A while back I bought a number of Ansco Shur Shot box cameras as part of other camera auctions on ebay. I really didn't know what to do with all these box cameras. They didn't take very good photos and they seem to start collecting dust on my camera shelf. My biggest complaint was the focal length. I prefer pinhole cameras that offer wide angle perspectives, so I decided to modify one of my box cameras to give me a wider angle. With a hack saw, some black opaque tape and come glue, I did just that. By shortening the length of the camera from 5 1/2" to 3 1/2" gave me a wider angle pinhole camera, as well as a film advance mechanism. After I finished making the camera, it was so ugly, I thought I should name it "The Beast".
