Recently I had the pleasure of working with a San Diego event planner, Erin Donoghue. Erin called and wanted me to photograph an upcoming event she was organizing. She was looking to update some new photos on her website Your Event By Erin as well as creating a new portrait for the about section. Being a wedding photographer, I'm always pleased to meet and get to know new event planners. When I'm photographing weddings or events, I always take note of how much time, effort and planning it must take to make a beautifully designed event run smoothly. Managing all the vendors involved in the wedding/party, which may include: invitation designers, florists (flowers), hotel/restaurant (venue location), music (DJ/MC), caterers (food and beverage), photographers, videographers, etc. so that everyone delivers on time and on schedule. I have also learned that event planners can be a photographers best friend to help keep the picture taking process running on schedule with the event timeline. And now that I have worked with Erin on more than one occasion, I can confidently tell you she's done a great job planning and running the party so that everyone could relax and have a good time.
If you're reading this and you're bride or person planning a party/wedding, I strongly suggest that you hire an planner for your event. Event planners will relieve you of a lot of the stress of planning and running your wedding/event by making sure that all the vendors involved are in place and doing what they have promised to do.
