Last year I was asked by a fellow photographer (Alicia) to help second shoot a wedding she was hired to photograph. While I was assisting with the wedding, I met Alicia's husband to be, Will, who was also helping with the shoot. Everyone worked together and got along brilliantly. After that wedding Alicia and Will were looking for a photographer for their own wedding and they asked if I would be interested being the photographer. I thought, "oh no, shoot another photographer's wedding... how scary would that be?" She reassured me that I was the right guy for the job and we made an agreement. So when it came to the idea of where to have their engagement session, we both agreed that shooting at the beach is beautiful and romantic. So we made a date and crossed our fingers for good weather. When I showed up on location that afternoon and saw the sun shinning with blue sky above, I knew everything was going to be just fine. Alicia and Will were troopers throughout the whole shoot. They braved walking out onto bluffs overlooking the ocean and walked on the slippery rocks in the tide pools to get the shot. I knew right away this is my kind of couple.
