My son hates it when I put tape on my pinhole cameras. He says it "mucks it up". So the last time I was in Mexico, I bought this nice wooden Teamo cigar box with the sole intention of modifying it into a pinhole camera. Like my other cigar box pinhole cameras, I had to grind down the wood around the area where the pinhole it attached to prevent vignetting. So, in honor of my son, I made this cigar box pinhole without any black tape and used a wooden shutter instead. I have a number of other cigar box pinhole cameras that I've made and written about it my book. I tend to prefer the smaller boxes because they're easier to pack and travel with. I guess if you wanted to you could put stuff inside the box when you pack it to save space. Also note that I've used two small lock washers to keep the shutter assembly nuts and bolts from coming loose. From making other cigar box pinhole camera, I've come to learn that mounting a tripod socket to the camera is less secure than using a large Pony 3" 3202 spring tripod mount clamp. You can read more about how to make th This holds the camera more securely, which means less camera shake when making an exposure. You can learn more about how to make this camera and the clamp in my book.
