And I think you'll find after reading and reviewing Robert Holmgren's Holga photos, that he has mastered this little plastic toy camera. 06.15.07 The Goodin Lab Hires CK Design + Photography to Create New Web Page Designs for The Scripps Research Institute It is my pleasure to announce that CK Design + Photography will be creating a new series of web pages for The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) in La Jolla, California. The webpage designs will be for The Goodin Lab which is part of the Molecular Biology Department of TSRI. I will be working directly with David B. Goodin, Ph.D Associate Professor of Molecular Biology TSRI, to come up with a new look and feel for their lab website. Currently this lab has been doing some exciting new research using the Stanford Synchrotron to study enzymes. The Goodin site will most likely launch by mid July of 2007

05.24.07 Unconventional Films Hires Chris Keeney To Be Director of Photography For New Upcoming Movie "The Picnic" I am happy to announce that I have been hired to be the Dirctor of Photography for the upcoming film "The Picnic" produced and created by experimental film company, Unconventional Films. This film is directed by Vernon Mortensen and produced by Neil Trusso. This film will be shot in San Diego county in June and released later this year as a short film. I will post a link to the movie after it has been cut and released to the public.

04.16.07 SPAMera™ Travels To Pittburgh To Be Part Of The f295 Pinhole Symposium I was asked this morning if I would be open to entering the SPAMera into a show called the Picture This—A Camera Made from a Coconut! Presented at the Society for Contemporary Craft’s satellite gallery at One Mellon Center in downtown Pittsburgh (April 27—June 3, 2007), Picture This will feature hand-made cameras created from unusual materials such as, clay, wood, shipping pallets, a cigar box, a spam tin and a coconut among many other found objects. The exhibition is being featured in conjunction with The f295 Symposium on Lensless, Alternative and Adaptive Photographic Processes being held in Pittsburgh April 26-29, 2007. Unfortunately I will be out of town on a photoshoot, so I will be unable to attend. My thanks goes out to the entire f295 staff & the SCC for including me in this event.

02.07.07 The MexiCanon Canera On Recent camping trip to Mexico, I found an old chili can on the ground. I thought at the time that this can appeared to be about the same size as a business card...Thanks to my friends at Nelson's Photo for donating the Canon lens cap for the lid. After creating the camera and testing it out, I soon realized that it created interesting little photos. The exposure time for each image is about 2.5 minutes in normal daylight situations.
Flickr thread	Flickr thread	The camera uses 2 X 3.5" photographic paper negatives (hand cut to size from 5 x 7" sheets of fiber base paper. The camera has a pinhole made in a piece of soda tin that has been J.B Welded to the can.

01.30.07 Seriously Tasty Oatmeal Cookies This is what I call NEWS! ~ Recently a good friend of ours had some oatmeal cookies sitting on a plate in her kitchen. Since I can't resist homemade cookies, and I knew Lisa made excellent cookies, so naturally I tried one. After tasting it,I had to have another! Naturally I HAD to have that recipe. My wife made a batch yesterday that inspired me to share this recipe with the world... just like open source application sharing. To make something, then someone may coming along and make it better... no one owns it, it's it own entity. 01.31.07 Sharing I'm in the beginning stages of setting up the site, so not much news to report now. This section of the site will be dedicated to news about my business and life. I intend to use the journal section of the site to share creative ideas, either with graphics or photo processes. I'm fascinated with the concept of "open source" coding. The thought of creating something that everyone can view and try and improve on is a great thing. I wish governments would implement thinking like that. I've owned the URL for 10+ years. I had an original site, which was removed from the internet years ago. I like how web sites can be constantly updated and refreshed.
