Years ago when I use to photograph a lot of weddings in San Diego, I met a wedding planner who had a business called Your Event by Erin. I realized as a photographer working a wedding you really need to work closely with the wedding planner. They will make your job so much easier if you coordinate with them. They know the schedule of the day, what the bride and groom are doing and when the caterer will have all the tables set and ready to photograph. And if you do your job well and get the shots that the bride and groom want, well, maybe the event planner will refer you business. So back then, when Erin asked me for a headshot for her website, I didn’t hesitate to say “yes”. So morale of the story is, be nice to the event planners.
