Hiking Taikoiwa Trail Kuguri Sugi cedar Yakushima Japan

Kuguri sugi Japanese cedar Yakushima. located in the Shiratani Unsuikyo Natural Forest, and the Taikoiwa trail passes beneath it. The roots of the Nidai Kugurisugi Cedar grew over a fallen tree, creating a natural arch. Those photographer friends and colleagues out there wondering why I didn’t use my Canon R5 to take this photo. Here’s the answer. I wanted my wife to stop hiking to take this photo but I didn’t want to cause a traffic jam on the trail by stopping to pull out my R5 and making it ready. Even though the quality of the image coming from the iPhone doesn’t come close to a full frame digital camera with lenses, sometimes being polite to others is more important than getting the shot.
