Búðakirkja Black Church Iceland

A small wooden black church with white multiple paned windows and a white door. located in a wide open landscape with green grass and the ocean and mountains in the background.

Normally photos like this bore me. I’ve seen so many of them before just like this. But wait, are they just like this? Unless someone was standing right next to me when I created this photo, I doubt it. My point is, that should be an excuse for me not to take photos like this. Sometimes I just want to remember how beautiful a place was. So I take a photo. I do love doing my artful experiments but I also like to tell the story in a way that most people can appreciate it. There was something peaceful yet strange and eerie about this place. Why black? Aren’t most churches white for a reason? So I’m asking myself why? Maybe just to contrast with the environment.
