Chris Keeney Fimmvörðuháls Trail-Skógar- Þórsmörk Iceland

After hiking the Laugavegur trail we ended up in Þórsmörk and stayed overnight in Basar mountain hut in Thórsmörk. The next day we took a day hike on the Fimmvörðuháls trail which is suppose to have an epic panoramic view of glaciers, volcanoes and the valley below at the top. Unfortunately the volcano in the Reykjanes peninsula was erupting creating a lot of smoke and clouds in region. And there was a storm coming in, so we turned around before we reached the summit. Regardless of all that there were some great views and the company of the other hikers was great. I liked this photo so much that I made it my profile picture for many online applications.
