Looking at something or someone and always wondering. Where you can go, what you can do, what you can see. It’s a place in your mind where everything is possible. Imagining how you could make things happen and how it would feel. It reminds me of the Freudian theory of “Wish fulfillment” or otherwise know as “Wunscherfüllung“. The pleasure principle and Wanting vs. Having. This subconscious drive within us I feel is where much of our creativity comes from. To have an imagination and not be afraid to use it.
Let’s take this photo for example. For those who can’t read Japanese kanji, this text could say anything. But if I told you what it said, you might be disappointed. Not knowing is where the excitement comes into imagining something is better than it actually is.
