Experimental high speed shutter and snooted flash portrait of Chris Keeney with green plants and palm trees behind him

Back in 2009 I was experimenting with snoots attached to a Canon Speedlite flash. This particular snoot was made out of a neoprene beer koozie. I put a small piece 1/2″ piece of PVC pipe at the end to further focus the light. I also set the flash to “high speed sync” so I could shoot at shutter speeds above 1/200th of a second. This in combination with a 50mm f/1.4 lens I think was a winner. Photo by my friend TM
