Japanese Circular Art Kanji and 落款印 Rakkan-in Kii-Katsuura

circular hand painted blue and white street sign with Japanese kanji and three artist marks (Rakkan-in)

If you’ve looked through my photography before, you already know I have a thing for Japanese calligraphy. I’m also fascinated with the square or rectangular artist seal that are called The Hanko (判子) or Rakkan-in (落款印). If you’re an artist and you’re proud of work that you have created then why not have a “signature” or stamp on your art?
