making-black-and-white-art-with-pinhole-cameras
I miss working in the darkroom on a regular basis. When I was working on my pinhole camera book, I was in and out of the darkroom all the time testing new cameras I was making and possibly featuring in the book. So one day I had this idea… I had made a bunch of test exposures at a local park (Pioneer Park in San Diego to be exact). When I got back to the darkroom, I thought… wait… instead of just dropping this 5×7 paper negative into the developer tray, why not drip developer onto the negative? Of course you’re kinda sacrificing the negative, because only part of the image on the negative is going to develop. But this could be unique and different. So what the heck, I gave it a try. The results were exciting. I did a number of prints this way including this image with the hand.
