Feel the Earth Beneath Your Feet Chris Keeney Hiking California
If you think about it we don’t walk around barefoot enough… at least I don’t. I know when I do, I get this feeling of being connected with the earth more than I do when I’m wearing shoes. When I go backpacking, I often like to take off my boots and let my feet breathe a little. And when I do this I feel even more connected with nature. Maybe it’s in my head/mind but I know it feels good. Especially when I soak them in a river or stream. I feel, now that we spend so much time inside working in front of computers, we lack this connection with nature. I think we need it. It reminds us that we’re part of nature and that we should respect it… take care of it. This type of connection with nature inspires me to create. To see the world in a new way. And when I start to lose that connection, I’ll take my shoes and socks off and walk on the earth again so I can reconnect with nature.
