Conversations with a bass

On a dive and snorkel one day to the kelp bed just South of La Jolla Shores beach, I came in contact with this kelp bass that was very curios about what I was doing in the water. He/she would follow me around as I’m diving up and down. It was strange. So I turned my camera on him and took a bass portrait. He said make sure you get my good side. I said, “Wow, you’re a handsome dude” Look at those brown stripes and good looking yellow fins. Those eyes too… stop staring at me with those eyes of yours.
