Experimental iPhone Camera panoramic

experimental abstract black and white panoramic photograph of Zion National Park in Utah

I had a good friend and coworker ask me one time about experimenting with a camera phone. At the time which was probably in the early 2000’s, I didn’t think much about photos created with a cell phone. Most of the time they were low quality and had lots of noise or pixilation. But times have changed and the cameras in smartphones have gotten pretty good. Now sporting fast lenses with state of the art in camera stabilization, with HDR (high Dynamic Range) and color and image enchainments. So now I think a little different about creating photos with my iPhone. Like my drone, these devices are smart. Sometimes I tink they’re smarter than me. So I take advantage of that technology and put it to use. In the case of the iPhone it has a pretty sophisticated panoramic feature that’s better than some of my expenses point and shoot cameras. So I thought I’d give it a go. So when I was in Zion National Park, I did a series of panos where I purposely moved the camera in a way I knew would alter the effect of the panoramic. Try it, it’s fun and it gives some interesting results.
