Shinto Shinkyo Sacred Mirror Self Reflection Chris Keeney
Since my mother’s passing in January of 2025, I have been giving a lot of thought about my own life. I guess you could say I have spending a lot of time self-reflecting. I have been practicing Buddhism since I was in college but now that I’m older I understand the teachings of Buddha a lot more. Yes, I know this is a Shinto Shrine, although I feel Shinto and Buddhism have a lot in common. Life truly is multi-dimensional like this image and we never really know what our future will be. That’s why I have been focusing on being in the now. Appreciating each moment for what it is. Wearing a smile on my face and making others smile in the process. It’s hard sometimes but I know that’s life. I love creating art and that makes me happy. And if my creations can make other people happy, then that’s even better. I know I only can control my own thoughts and actions, so I’m going to spend the rest of my life being the best person I can be.
