Human Algorithms Four Pillars Play Learn See with Empathy Chris Keeney ~ Artist Statement 01-27-26
This vibrant watercolor artwork explores the “Human Algorithms” framework by Chris Keeney. It depicts a human profile as a central axis between two worlds: a fluid, ethereal blue side representing creativity and empathy, and a structured, geometric orange side representing grounded knowledge and growth. Roots at the base and birds at the top symbolize the harmony between being anchored in reality and reaching for new insights.
Artist Statement
My work explores the quiet systems that shape how we notice, choose, and connect. I think of these systems as human algorithms — lived patterns formed through play, learning, perception, and empathy. Unlike machines, humans create meaning through presence, memory, and care. I’m interested in slowing the process down, honoring repetition, and staying with uncertainty long enough for depth to emerge. This work isn’t about optimization or answers, but about attention — and the human capacity to see, feel, and respond with intention.. -Chris Keeney 01-27-26
